Long time...No blog!

It's been a very looong time since my last post. About 5 years to be exact! To be honest, I kind of forgot about it. Only time will tell if I post more often!  :0)

Zachary's Pizza and Oakland Zoo Lights

One of the many traditions the Land's have is to celebrate Verle's birthday by going to the Oakland Zoo Lights. Unfortunately, the Oakland Zoo did not put on their annual light fest for the last two years. They could not get enough sponsorships to be able to afford it and last year all the lights they had ordered were damaged in shipping. So we were very excited when we found out that the Zoo Lights were back this year.

We decided to meet at Zachary's Pizza for dinner before we went to the zoo. Ian and Charlene had been to Zachary's before and said how wonderful it was. They were right!!! Zachary's makes a Chicago deep dish style pizza. It was very good.

After dinner, we were off to see the lights! The new Zoo had replaced all the old lights with new LED lights. The effect was spectacular! All the displays were bright and beautiful. The highlight was the train ride around the zoo.
